Concord Robinson sophomore point guard Lavar Batts Jr. is one of the top in-state players in North Carolina in the class of 2017. He's at least 6-1 but athletic enough where he can block shots at the rim or throw alley-oops to him. His block at the 1:10 mark of the scouting video, is something John Wall or Dennis Smith Jr. would be able to do in high school. His next step is becoming a smoother outside shooter. He made his first two three-pointers, right at the beginning of the video, but then missed his next five. He finished with 22 points, five rebounds and four assists in a loss to Cornelius (N.C.) Hough.
