Football Devin Leary getting interviewed tonight...

NC State injured quarterback Devin Leary and the coaches must want to clear the air on some things because he's doing a Zoom interview at 6:30 p.m. tonight. It's super rare for an injured NC State player to do an interview, let alone so soon after surgery.

So, maybe his future plans will get cleared up, or at least he'll be asked about going pro vs. returning to college. If he announces his professional plans, at least quarterbacks at other colleges looking to transfer will have a clear picture of NC State's future quarterback room.

Recruiting NC State offers in-state sophomore...

NC State pulled the trigger on Monroe (N.C.) High sophomore wide receiver/free safety Jordan Young. He had camped at NC State on June 5, and the Wolfpack are his first offer.

He has 27 catches for 640 yards and seven touchdowns for 9-1 Monroe, which hosts New London (N.C.) North Stanly in the NCHSAA playoffs this Friday. He also had 27 tackles and seven interceptions on defense, including a freakish four picks against Monroe Parkwood High on Oct. 14.

Young joins Marshville (N.C.) Forest Hills sophomore wide receiver Je’Rel Bolder in earning offers. They just played each other last Friday. Young caught two passes for 20 yards and a score, and added six tackles on defense in a 21-19 win.

Bolder caught two passes for 15 yards and a score, and added a 21-yard kick return and 18-yard punt return.

Looks like the injury bug is starting to hurt some other folks as well.....

I see that several other programs have gotten hit with some significant injuries lately including our friends over in Orange County. I never like to see kids get injured but for folks that think it's just NC State, it's not. Van Dyke could be done for the year at Miami, Syracuse lost their top corner and one of the best in the ACC to a torn ACL and Saturday UNC lost both starting DEs (Taylor and Evans) and starting RB (Hood) for the season. Lots of teams going to be tested down the stretch to see what type of quality depth they have been able to build their roster with and how well those kids have been coached up.

I found it interesting that Cleveland has apparently passed some guys at DE and is now listed on our two deep there. Unfortunately we may get some glimpses of what the young freshman may bring in the future beginning on Saturday.
