All babies see red first!! Take that UNC!! :)
From interestingfacts.com:
"Newborns that can see aren’t colorblind, but their brains don’t perceive colors the same way that older children and adults do. They can also only see about 8 to 10 inches in front of their faces at first. This is why babies tend to enjoy high-contrast, black and white images — they’re easy for them to see. A few weeks after birth, red comes into focus, followed by green. Infants can see a full range of color by about 5 months old, although still not quite as vividly as adults."

OT: NBA free agency gets cooking...

Some fun moves in the NBA today, with small forward Klay Thompson going from the Golden State Warriors to the Dallas Mavericks.

The Celtics are up for sale and I'm guessing someone will buy them for at least $2 billion.

Terquavion Smith was let go by the Philadelphia 76ers and Utah Jazz are waiving Omer Yurtseven.

Other impactful moves:

Small forward Paul George is going from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Philadelphia 76ers. The 76ers also brought back wing Kelly Oubre, while the Clippers got Derrick Jones from the Dallas Mavericks.

In turn, small forward Tobias Harris has left the 76ers for the Detroit Pistons.

Point guard Chris Paul has gone from the Warriors to San Antonio Spurs, which seems an odd move on the surface.

Center Jonas Valanciunas chased money over winning and signed with the Washington Wizards.

Shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope cashed in with the Orlando Magic, after helping Denver win a title two years ago.

The Thunder showed how healthy the league is financially where even their reserves cash in. Former High Point Wesleyan standout Aaron Wiggins cashed in with four years and $57 million from the OKC Thunder. Fellow reserve wing Isaiah Joe, who was out of the league at one point, got four years and $48 million.

The Thunder also brought in New York Knicks center Isaiah Hartenstein, who I think was nearly out of the league in his recent past. He got three years and $87 million.

The Mavericks signed Naji Marshall to three years and $27 million, and he was another one who was out of the league at one point.

Patrick Williams of West Charlotte High resigned with the Chicago Bulls for five years and $90 million, which is kind of crazy.

This was all done on the heels of the Knicks giving up draft capital for small forward Mikal Bridges.

The Hawks gave up on the Dejounte Murray and Trae Young backcourt, with Murray getting traded to the Pelicans. NC State legacy Dyson Daniels was part of that trade.

Ohio DT locks in NC State official visit...

Pavey announced a couple weeks ago that Wisconsin, Indiana and Purdue are his final three. The Ohio native holds close to 20 scholarship offers including from Boston College, West Virginia, Pitt and Cincinnati. But he announced on Tuesday that NC State will be getting an official visit from him June 19-21.

"I'm looking forward to learning more about the program and seeing where I fit in the program," Pavey said.

I asked him if setting the official visit meant that the Wolfpack have worked their way into that top group. They aren't quite there yet but he's leaving the door open.

"After my visit there I’m hoping to put them there," Pavey said. "Anything can happen."

Recruiting ACC OT: Eastern N.C. defensive end picks Virginia Tech...

Top 15 in-state defensive end Sherrod Henderson of Rocky Pointe (N.C.) Heide Trask High has picked Virginia Tech over Michigan State, USF and Duke. He's an exciting prospect who likely didn't fit NC State's 3-3-5 scheme, which we've seen over the years. That said, he dominates at what he does at 6-3 and 220 pounds with a reported 4.57-second 40-yard dash. Not just on defense either, as he rushed for over 1,200 yards last year.

Recruiting Junior 4-star CB Samari Matthews doesn't have Pack in top 11...

NC State will probably keep trying with Cornelius (N.C.) Hough junior cornerback Samari Matthews, just like they will continue with junior tight end Kendre' Harrison, but it shows how hard it is to get in the top 10 these days.

Matthews has:

Clemson
Florida
Florida State
North Carolina
Notre Dame
Ohio State
Oregon
Penn State
South Carolina
Tennessee
Virginia Tech

Recruiting Senior cornerback commit Robert Jones III decommits...

Robert Jones III committed to NC State, but he also has been committed at least once in the past, and possibly twice, so he really likes to get recruited. He has visited USF and UCF and is about to see Illinois. I doubt he'll go to Illinois because of the weather.

Anderson (S.C.) T.L. Hanna senior cornerback Cam Strong is expected to announce at 8 p.m. Friday, and rumblings are that Georgia Tech is trying to up the NIL money for Strong, making what looked like a easy NCSU commitment a little bit harder.
