Very concerning.
Btw, both men & women's teams for Pack got torched yesterday from 3 point land.
Men gave up 12-24 & Women 14-24
I went back and watched our 3 point defense against Duke. Duke was 8-28. I graded every 3 point shot, 1-10 for defensive effort. If our defender graded from 6-10, I gave credit. If it was 1-5, I did not. Interestingly, on Dukes 8 made 3's we played decent defense on 4-8. On Dukes 20 misses, again we played half of them with a "hand in face"... it appears that we just hope the shooter is off that day.
Sadly, the Women Pack watched the 1-7 unc women shoot wide open threes. It appears every game is about who is hot shooting and not defending the 3 without fouling.
I believe "influencing" the timing of a 3 point shooter, without fouling is a lost art. Players seem to feel that if the shooter is "on" it won't matter... sometimes a shooter is "unconscious" but #4 of Miami influenced Unc's Berry Saturday and Berry couldn't hit the broad side....
