Below is the first year records and best year records for several of our past coaches. ( Conference regular season games only)
Norm Sloan- 2/12; 12/0 (twice)
Jimmy V- 4/10; 10/4 (1st Place)
Les Robinson- 8/6 (1st year and best year)
Herbie Sendek- 4/12; 11/5 (2nd place)
Sid Lowe- 5/11; 6/10 (10th place)
MG- 9/7; 11/7 (4th place)
KK -11/7 ( Tied for third)
The only coaches to have wining records their first years were Les, MG and KK. In his first four years, MG teams actually won more games than Herb's, Sid's and Jimmy V's teams. Jimmy V's first four teams had 1 winning season and one that was 8/8. MG's first year team had some young but very good players in CJ Leslie, Scott Wood, Lorenzo Brown, Richard Howell and C J Williams. No wonder that he won 9 conference games his first year. Les won 8 games with Rodney Monroe, Chris C., Googs and Bryant Feggins and K Thompson his 1st year. With the team he had, KK is off to a very good start.
