Interesting recruiting scenario just played out where Chris Denson of prep powerhouse Plant City (Fla.) High had committed to Coastal Carolina and coach Tim Beck on April 17. Clemson loses its quarterback commit to Notre Dame. The Tigers look around at UNC commit Bryce Baker of Kernersville (N.C.) East Forsyth and it wouldn't surprise me if they checked in with NC State commit Will Wilson of Columbia (S.C.) Richland Northeast.

Clemson thinks UNC coach Mack Brown will be back and don't want to wait on Baker and wrap up the flip of Denson. Brown gets fired today and Denson announces the flip from the weekend. Penn State and LSU now the rumored colleges to go after Baker, with LSU losing star quarterback Bryce Underwood because the Golden State Warriors owner made him perhaps the richest player in college football next year. Apparently, Larry Ellison's wife is a big Michigan fan. It's the ultimate "this is recruiting in 2024" situation.
