New Pitt coach Jeff Capel lands former Nebraska point guard signee Xavier Johnson of Arlington (Va.) Bishop O'Connell, who played for Team Takeover. He got out of his NU letter of intent after assistant coach Kenya Hunter left to go to Connecticut.

Former NC State coach Mark Gottfried had offered Johnson after his sophomore year of high school, and he came down for Primetime With The Pack. He's a lot like Lavar Batts Jr., in that's he's super athletic as a downhill point guard. Johnson joins Trey McGowens as Pitt signees this spring. They are also going after Aundre Hyatt, who could go back into the class of 2018, and he'd be a nice four-star coup for Capel.
