Woke up this morning to the sad news that Diondre Overton was killed last night in Greensboro, N.C. The former Clemson and Greensboro Page wide receiver was a NC State priority in recruiting in the class of 2016, and someone I got to know well. He also was possibly a low Division I hoops prospect and a quality defensive back for Page. I can't remember if Page High and Overton played against Dennis Smith and Fayetteville Trinity Christian at UNCG for a Martin Luther King Jr. hoops event, or played someone else in the showcase event, but I remember seeing something that was rare at the time. I walked in and there was three Clemson football coaches at his basketball game, and that is when I knew the Tigers meant business.
