Don’t know if this means much but I find it kind of interesting. Last year’s All-ACC squad (1st Team through 3rd Team) was composed of:
Three 5* Recruits
Six 4* Recruits
Six 3* Recruits
Average HS rating for 2020 All-ACC players is 3.8*.

First Team
Two 5* (both from Duke)
One 4* (UL)
Two 3* (ND & SU)
Second Team
Four 4* (NCSU, UVA, FSU & UNC)
One 3* (FSU)
Third Team
One 5* (UNC)
One 4* (CU)
Three 3* (UVA, GT & WF)
There aren’t many 5* guys to go around and everyone wants them. I find it interesting that there were just as many 3* guys on the First Team, as there were 5* recruits. With all of the 5* and 4* talent on ACC rosters (21 x 5* & 56 x 4* over the last three classes), I also found it interesting that the average HS rating for All ACC squad members was less than 4*. I don’t know if this is reflection on ratings (is basketball IQ, willingness to assimilate into a system, training habits, etc factored into ratings or is it all about averaging 30+ per game?) or is it a reveal that the athleticism, while important and necessary, does not carry the day, once you get to the ACC level.
