UNC Asheville 5-foot-10 sophomore point guard Andrew Rowsey of Lexington, Va., will take in NC State from Thusday until Saturday. I'd call it a feeling out visit — to see where both sides are — and if he gets to play pickup with the players, that will be a crucial piece to the puzzle. He'll then check out Cincinnati and Marquette, who both have very good chances of also landing Rowsey.
I don't know if there is a clubhouse leader, but some believe the Bearcats have one big advantage in that sophomore point guard Troy Caupain and Rowsey shared the Team Loaded traveling team backcourt together. There isn't any guess work on how that could work in the one year they would overlap with each other. The AAC isn't the ACC though, and NC State has proximity to home if the Wolfpack go "all-in."
Rowsey would sit out next year and have two years of eligibility remaining. Some thing he can play point guard, others view him as a undersized shooting guard. His statistics in the Big South will make your head spin, though while doing my research, tourney champion Coastal Carolina did a superb job in five career meetings.
