During football season we know every assistant coach and his area of responsibility and are quick to call them out or praise them if the defense is terrible or the defensive backs make great plays or the o-line keeps giving up sacks, etc.
Why isn't the same true with basketball coaches. I would assume the assistants have similar roles and coach specific areas like big men, shooting, point guards etc. I remember Pete Gaudette at Duke was supposed to be specifically a coach for the big men.
Is this not true for basketball. I hate to bring this up because half the board will have wanted the shooting coach fired after WF etc.
