NC State freshman Braxton Beverly has been exploring legal routes to try and change the NCAA rulebook on transfers, and has apparently settled on an attorney.
NC State was hoping the court of public opinion would sway the NCAA this week, but that last ditch effort didn't work. Now the media are on to Georgia Tech, UCLA trio getting arrested, FBI sting and eventually the season actually starting.
I would think if he could somehow either bully the NCAA to change the rules for him (or create a bluff), late December would be the cutoff point, otherwise redshirting would be the prudent move. No point in having a third-string guard for half a season.
