One of the interesting stories this spring is that Division II power Lincoln Memorial in Harrogate, Tenn., fired its coach, Jeremiah Samarrippas, despite going 25-6 overall. He had replaced Josh Schertz, who is now at Saint Louis, but should be at a high major program soon.

NC State has contacted sophomore shooting guard Wes Enis, who is a stocky 6-2, 200-pound left-handed shooter. Some project him at point guard, but I don't see that at all. he averaged 20.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per game, and had 91 assists and 60 turnovers. Enis shot an impressive 41.3 percent on three-pointers.

The freshman forward Elyjah Freeman is the big prize at Lincoln Memorial. How he ended up at D-II is a complete mystery as he has a chance to be an NBA player. Freeman averaged 18.9 points and 8.7 rebounds per game, and shot 45.6 percent on three-pointers (26 of 57) and 58.7 percent from the field.
