- Lawrence made his official visit to NC State this weekend, left this afternoon and from best we can tell that's it for contact before his decision unless he talks with some coaches on the phone. We can say that in the past we have heard that not only is Lawrence impossible for reporters to get on the phone, he was difficult for college recruiters as well.

- Some clarity on Clemson and the in-home, Dabo Swinney did meet with Lawrence at the school Friday. That basically counts as an in-home even if it's not at the home. Head coaches can only meet with players once. Technically his assistants could have met with Lawrence Sunday, but that does not appear that is going to happen. Bottom line, as we mentioned before, it appears State got the last at bat in this recruitment (two of the last three if you count his unofficial visit for the UNC game which was not a given leading up to the game).

- Where will Lawrence go? Wish we could tell you. Wake Forest High head coach Reggie Lucas let the cat out of the bag that it is really between Alabama, Clemson and NC State (he later added that UNC and Florida might have hats at the table as well). We can say that no one at Clemson or NCSU seem that concerned with Alabama.

- We first posted on the board that Nick Saban was going to Wake Forest High on Wednesday afternoon. We were later told that it was the Alabama's linebacker coach. Now it sounds like Saban went in-home that evening, to clear up some confusion there. That would suggest that the Tide might still be in play, but again as we noted above, no one seems to be giving them much of a chance.

- We have not gotten any indication from sources that NCSU firmly knows what Lawrence is going to do. The vibe we get from the Clemson side is that they believe it is a true toss-up as well. Lawrence's personality is so unassuming that he would be the type that would not seem eager to let the cat out of the bag and comfortable holding things to himself.

- It was a good weekend for NC State to host Lawrence. The Pack was able to give him a lot of individual attention, and he got to go to the NCSU team banquet.

- Reading some tea leaves: the conventional wisdom is that mom favors NC State, and she has played the central role in his recruitment. On the other hand, while Lawrence is not one that gets drawn by the spotlight, it's hard to ignore that he took official visits to Alabama, Clemson, Florida and Ohio State. That suggests that "big-name" programs are a draw, and Clemson has the advantage of being a "big-name" program within doable distance. We'll share a tidbit about that though if Lawrence does indeed pick NCSU.

We had one source tell us Saturday that if he had to guess (key word), it would be NC State. We had another source report that they thought (key word again) it was Clemson going into this weekend. There has been little clarity Sunday night. Maybe we will learn more Monday, but as of now very little confidence to take a guess either way.
