Always tough to get a road win in the conference & especially so against Syracuse!
Just wanted to clarify that I wanted Keatts to be our Head Coach during the coaching search!
I thought he or Wade would be a great choice to lead & build our program!
And despite my last couple of very critical threads pertaining to our program, I am still 100% behind our coaching staff!!
Just amazes & frustrates me when we play no half court defense where give up a multitude of uncontested layups!
And playing defense is more about effort than athleticism.
When I played just streetball/church league, man I was all about playing defense!
And I am extremely short & slow, not to mention not a very good shooter!
So, I tried to specifically concentrate on playing defense & I took pride in cutting guys off from the basket!
And I had a unique ability to steal the ball using quick hands and through anticipation.
Also, playing with long time friends on the blacktop we would constantly communicate on defense to avoid losing a man driving to the basket.
However, those days have long past me by and this is a new era of basketball.
I guess I'm just old school and don't understand why we have so many issues with giving up easy baskets when playing defense is a lot easier than trying to run a set offense?
