Is it the coach or the school?

With all the coaching openings (comings and goings), I got to thinking is it the coach or the school when trying to evaluate a coach's record. Doesn't it seem that Xavier (Pete Gillen, Skip Prosser, Thad Matta, Sean Miller, Chris Mack) always wins? How about Tulsa (Tubby Smith, Steve Robinson, Bill Self, Buzz Petersen, Doug Wojcik, Danny Manning)? How about VCU (Jeff Capel, Anthony Grant, Shaka Smart)? Dayton (Jim O'Brien, Oliver Purnell, Brian Gregory, Archie Miller)? Point is: I have always evaluated coaches based on how they are doing at their respective schools against that schools history. Rick Barnes took Clemson to heights that it has ever seen or seen since. Did at Texas too. As such, next time a "list" is being made think about the school and its history before anointing a coach as the savior. TN made a great hire. Don't know about St. Johns. Others?
