Former NC State point guard Javi Gonzalez helped Puerto Rico go 5-3 at the FIBA Americas, with Louisville coach Rick Pitino on the bench.

I watched Canada's win over Puerto Rico, and Gonzalez was backing up Dallas Mavericks point guard J.J. Barea, who was easily the star for his country. Gonzalez had a few floaters and had six points in 10 minutes off the bench. He finished the event with 17 points and and six assists in his role.
