Pittsboro Northwood loses a tough one, 49-46, to Fayetteville Terry Sanford.
Sophomore wing Drake Powell, who NC State has offered, tried to grind it out. His deep jumper wasn’t falling, but he plays hard on the defensive end and did his usual good things in the mid-range. We’ll have his final stats in a bit.
Powell got fouled on a 3-pointer, down three points with 1.3 seconds left. He missed the first free throw, then made the next two. Terry Sanford was then fouled with 0.3 seconds left, so no chance at end for Northwood.
Charlotte Northside Christian vs. Raleigh Trinity Academy is up next, so a good test for Northside Christian junior wing Wesley Tubbs III, who NCSU has offered.
