Junior target Jonathan Paylor and Burlington (N.C.) Cummings dismantled Dunn (N.C.) Midway High 42-7 tonight. The rain held off until the beginning of the third quarter, but that didn't slow down Paylor, who split time between being in the backfield and playing wide receiver. He unofficially combined for 276 yards and four touchdowns, all rushing, plus seven tackles from the safety position...all in three quarters of action.
He caught four passes for 99 yards, just in the first quarter. He added a fifth catch for zero yards in the second quarter. Paylor rushed seven times for 177 yards and the four scores, with the last of them a 78-yarder that created running clock in the third quarter.
I had a good talk with Paylor after the game, as he just attended the Wake Forest at NC State game.
