There has been a trend in a number of areas with NC State hoops this year and one of those that has stood out to me are some of the comment's in Keatts' post game comments. There have been a number of times when he has made comments that either are factually incorrect or that just seem to be disconnected from reality and after yesterday's game another clear example came from a question asked by James Henderson. He asked how Keatts thought our ball movement was and Coach responded by saying that since FSU switches 1-5 you are forced to make a lot of one on one plays and "we are never going to have a lot of assists against a team that switches 1-5 because you don't have those opportunities". He went on to say he thought our ball movement "was good". Those statements are troublesome from numerous angles and IMO again demonstrates a disconnect from the reality of how we played. First of all, teams that have beaten FSU this year have averaged 16.3 assists per game against them so no, just because they switch 1-5 it does not mean that you have to play one on one basketball and that you can't have a lot of assists. That to me says that you as a coach do not understand how to prepare your team to attack a team that employs this strategy yet we play the same switching 1-5 and teams have averaged 15.15 assists per game against us in ACC play. Regardless of the defense teams employed against us, we struggled to generate assists averaging only 11.3 ass/gm in ACC play and failing to even reach double digit assists in 7 (35%) of our league games.

This is a big picture concern for IMO because it says to me that our coach doesn't see things as they actually are and if you can't see reality you have little chance to change the course of the results you are achieving.
