Chris Peak from the Rivals Pitt site informed me that Winfree has State as one of five schools under consideration. He seriously considered the Pack coming out of high school. Last fall Winfree caught 11 passes for 158 yards and two scores as a true freshman but also got suspended a couple of times for violation of school conduct policy.
Pitt is considered the favorite and they have set up the lone visit so far (July 20). Colorado State, Utah and West Virginia are also in his claimed top five. Have not verified whether or not NCSU is involved from Raleigh's end.
