The Midlands open wrestling tournament is going on today and tomorrow in the Chicago area. The Pack has several back ups competing.
Finn Solomon is a freshman back up at 149. He lost his first round match via major decisions 12-4 to the starter rom Penn. He also lost his first match to the back up at Penn in a close decision in the consolation wrestle backs.
Derek Fields 165 drew a tough 1st round assignment, Quincy Monday from Princeton in round 1. He lost by fall in period 1. He has won his first two matches in the consolation wrestle back and is scheduled to go against mayfield from Northwestern,
Keep an Eye on Dylan Fishback who is great incoming freshman at 184. He went 2-1 in New Orleans only losing to #10 ranked Pinto in a great match that he could have easily won. So far in Chicago, he has won a close decision in round one but won his second round by fall. He is schedule to wrestle the starter for West Virginia in the next round. He is a really solid wrestler. I wish he could get to 174 as he wrestles behind Trent Hidlay. .
We have both of our Back UP 285 lbs. Chase Horne who is a super Freshman and Tyrie Houghton. They both lost in round one and have won their first round in the consolation round. They still have on more match today.
