Adam Howard was a fast riser in the coaching ranks, hitching his wagon to coach Donnie Tyndall. Then it crashed when Tyndall got to Tennessee and they were found to have academic eligibility issues and financial aid rules and Tyndall was fired after one year and received a devastating 10-year show-cause penalty.
Tyndall had was alleged to have assistant coaches due the academic work of players, and was paying players. Tyndall has been the coach at Chipola Junior College in Florida since 2020, where the sanctions don’t get followed at that level.
Howard then landed at Troy under coach Richie Riley and has been at Nebraska since 2018. Nebraska is a tough job, but coach Fred Hoiberg is so well respected.
