Zach Lofton is about to join the rare five colleges in five years club. The St. Paul, Minn., native started off at Illinois State, where he was suspended for three games his freshman year, and then left. He ended up at San Jacinto Junior College in Texas before signing with Minnesota. The Gophers booted him from the team after the first exhibition game and he ended up at Texas Southern, which has been a haven for oft-troubled players under head coach Mike Davis (formerly UAB and Indiana).

Lofton was great in the SWAC, but struggled against the tough non-conference teams on Texas Southern's schedule, including going 2 of 11 for nine points against North Carolina in the NCAA Tournament.
