Article from the author on April 25: Link
According to Rivals, NC State has not offered the five-star center but it's interesting to see the Pack's name mentioned with him this week. It's possible Weingarten could simply be citing the Pack's interest from April 25 in his most recent Tweet, which happened to be five days before Josh Hall announced he would remain in the draft and one day before newest Pack-commit Jaylon Gibson announced he was opening up his recruitment. According to the article, Reid mentioned he was still open to reclassifying into the 2020 class. If the last time the Pack talked to Reid, it seems likely that he was contacted as a potential option to replace Hall's scholarship for 2020.
Another important note is that Reid was originally set to play on the same AAU this summer alongside Roosevelt Wheeler, a four-star center and one of NC State's top uncommitted 2021 targets. We know NC State has already offered Wheeler, so it's safe to assume he remains the primary target for 2021 and the more-likely candidate to wind-up in Raleigh.
