Alpha Wolf was kind enough to to provide a link to last years decisive WolfPack victory over the UNC TarHeels, a butt kicking. I had forgotten how one dominant the Wolfpack was in that game. This got me thinking about the series record over the last few years. So I went back to 2002, the records easily accessible on this site back to that year. It was encouraging.
NCSU has won 8 of the last 13 contests for an 8 and 5 record. The Wolfpack has scored 369 points during that period, an average of 28, while UNC has scored 301 points and average of 23.
Only UNC has been shut out in their 2011 loss. The lowest NCSU has scored is 9 points in a 2006 loss.
Looking into the future both reams had relatively young teams last year, but one gets the distinct opinion that the foundation is much stronger at NCSU especially with the UNC scandal looming.
One wonders how the Coach Fedora Coach Chizik relationship is going. Can a former head coach at national championship team, as he was at Auburn, be content working for someone with less distinguished credentials?
