NC State made its first offer out to the class of 2022 in Durham (N.C.) Academy sophomore wing Marquise "M.J." Rice. This is interesting on many levels. Rice blew out his knee and has missed most of the season. Maybe NC State thinks its chances have gone up due to the knee injury. I know he has coveted a Duke offer, but we'll see if he ever gets one. He also could end up in the class of 2021 because he's a year older than his grade.
As a player, when healthy, he's a power wing, who has really improved his perimeter game. He has a college-ready body already and played above the rim. He had 27 points against Greensboro Day in a win last November and that opened up a lot of eyes.
