Things don’t look good for Dennis Smith right now. JZ called it when he said the Knicks were probably not a good move for him however it snowballed and got worse. Some his fault, some not. He had two injuries and his stepmother dies costing him 2 weeks. Things he can control, his defense is sporadic and he doesn’t pass/distribute the ball at all, and his shooting is poor. biggest thing is he doesn’t make the people around him better, so that is not good for the team. He is one of those guys that makes the sum LESS than the individual parts. I’m not a basketball but passing and defense has a lot to do with desire. It’s his choice if he wants to get better.
I don’t want to give up on the kid. He needs to work on the things he can control and hopefully he doesn’t have 2 injuries next year or any family trauma. Otherwise he is headed to Europe/Asia/Israel. And that isn’t a great place to be right now.
