Yesterday, Nov. 15th, Grinnell College played some outfit called Emmaus Bible College and won 164-107. Seriously, 271 total points in 40 minutes. Some truly incredible stats from that game:
- Grinnell made 42 threes. They attempted a whopping 88 threes but only 22 twos.
- 16 different players launched threes. 9 different players made at least 2 threes.
- Grinnell played 20 players, 18 of whom attempted at least one shot.
- All but one guy played at least 4 minutes, nobody played more than 17 minutes.
- Emmaus shot 53%, grabbed 49 rebounds, committed only 16 fouls and scored 107 points -- but lost by 57 points. Sure they had 29 turnovers, but really.
- Neither team had a fast break point.
- The box score lists attendance as zero. Wait a few years and hundreds of people will claim to have been there to see it.
