Kurt Benkert was just announced as starter recently and tore his ACL. Benkert may sound somewhat familiar to NC State fans. Back in 2013, Benkert camped at NC State and had a solid day. For a while, I thought Benkert would be the backup option if the Pack did not get Joe Viviano. State chose to be patient with Viviano, a bit out of the norm for their typical M.O., at the time. Benkert went ahead and committed to ECU. A month later, Viviano decided to take the Harvard education (I believe he switched positions too if I recall).
