The weird odyssey of junior shooting guard Mikey Williams of San Diego, Calif., who attends online school Vertical Academy of Huntersville, N.C. continues. He didn't come and play this weekend in Charlotte, disappointing fans, but his dad and uncle were on the bench for Vertical Academy. He's apparently back home in San Diego and has shut things down, at least for now. I know the big Greensboro event this weekend is marketing him, but I seriously doubt he'll be playing. My hunch is he'll play overseas or Overtime next year with his 3.5 million Instagram followers and Puma shoe deal, but he's publicly insisting he'll attend college.
