Saw a replay of the game this morning, didn't get a chance to see it live yesterday unfortunately. I for one am pretty encouraged. The guys played super hard on defense. The problem is, when you are super cold with the jump shots you never get an opportunity to set the press and get easy ones by running. I saw so many balls go in and out on our shots. That's a little fluky.
Our best players are our bigs, and I don't think KK prefers it that way. Multiple play makers with length and a solid jump shot at the guard/wing position should lead this team. We could have that with an older Batts/Johnson (with an improved jumper) and Bryce/Daniels/Dorn.
It's so cliche but it's true, KK needs his own players that fit with what he truly wants to do. I'm sure he'd love to have Bryce/Daniels/Dorn pressing as opposed to guys like Hunt and Beverly.
Don't lose sight of what we're looking for. Effort, defense, and passion. Right now we're getting it.
