The Charlotte Liberty Heights duo of reclassed junior guard Silas Demary Jr. and senior power forward Ezra Ausar are playing one of the three Overtime teams at Lincolnton Combine Academy today.

I always say that every class has that one prospect who falls into the category of “should NC State offer him or not?” Usually it is someone local, ranked in the 100-150 range and has been seen a lot.

Power forward Gary Clark at Clayton High fit that to a T, and eventually he got an offer after Nike Peach Jam in mid-July. He eventually picked Cincinnati after NCSU landed Abdul-Malik Abu, and made the NBA.

Demary helped lead Raleigh Millbrook High to a NCHSAA state title and made the move from 2022 to 2023 at Liberty Heights. He’s ranked in the 100s and probably evaluated a lot already being local. He’s the type of guard who is solid across the board but maybe not superb at one thing yet (nice mid-range game though).

Will the Wolfpack eventually offer him? I could see a scenario of “Yes” very easily. He’s handling his business out here.

Speaking of Abu, Ausar has a similar body. Jamie Shaw of Rivals.com thinks he’s the best 2022 prospect in the state, who attend school in the state. He has shown flashes in the first half, but hasn’t hit his stride yet at halftime. Ausar could be a spring target for high major schools.

Overtime is leading 49-35 at halftime, and while they are all “pro’s,” power forward Matt Bewley looks like an NBA lock. Amen Thompson is solid on the wing and forward Kok Yat would be a nice college prospect, but maybe not a NBA one.
