"“Nobody wants to stay the same. If you don’t want to get better, then there’s no point in playing,” said Cherry. “I just want to be better than last year and keep working hard.“I caught 27 balls last year, so I feel like I should catch double that. My expectations are pretty high.”The 5-foot-11 speedy wide out was the Wolfpack’s third leading receiver last season with 27 receptions for 354 yards with three touchdowns. Cherry also ran the football six times for 40 yards with two touchdowns, while returning six punts for 35 yards and returning a kickoff for 34 yards.“My role, I feel like I need to be more of a leader and try to make big plays happen and help the offense in any way I can,” Cherry said. His sophomore season was drastically better than his freshman season (eight catches, 68 yards in nine games), and he played a full year.Cherry’s anticipating a larger role this season, both as a wide receiver and at returner."
