OT: Steve Lavin maybe back at SJU...
St. John's might be giving coach Steve Lavin an extension per Mike DeCourcey of Sporting News, which is interesting because now Lavin essentially has to recruit a team. He's notorious for not being a "program" builder and more year-to-year, and that usually catches up to those coaches, and it almost did with Lavin this season. Three deep reserves return, plus one freshman who didn't play and one prep commit would be the roster if the season started today, if sophomore point guard Rysheed Jordan goes pro.
Center Chris Obepka was suspended for drug use and probably won't be back either, but he'd bump the number up to five players back and one recruit.
