Maurince Wingate of NYCHoops.net caught up Brooklyn (N.Y.) Jefferson High freshman point guard Jaquan Carlos recently, and I had a short reaction with Carlos on getting offered by NC State in late June after attending team camp. At the time, it seemed risky to offer a player so young, not that he probably could have committed right then and there, but the Wolfpack appear to have been way ahead of the curve on the promising floor general.
