Junior center Josiah Shackleford of Ayden-Grifton High in Ayden, N.C., is the nephew of former NC State and NBA center Charles Shackleford, who passed away Jan. 27, 2017. The two were close and Josiah's mother was Charles' sister.
Josiah Shackleford is poised to be a breakout star at 6-8 1/2 and 205 pounds with a reported 7-2 wingspan and 40-inch vertical jump. He's similar in some ways to Immanuel Bates, though not as tall. There is also talk he could end up in the class of 2020 at Raleigh Word of God, and if that happens, I could the odds of an NC State offer increase greatly in his future.
