NC State leads the ACC in TO forced at 14 per game, but are 12th in offensive TOs at 12.5 per game
NC State is tied for 5th in the ACC in FG% at .450, but last in FG% defense at .499
NC State is in middle of the ACC in 3PT FG%, and 3PT FG% defense
NC State is 2nd in the ACC in fewest 3PT FG made and attempted by the opponent.
The first and last stat seem to be the most important to me. Despite some poor individual defenders on this team, we still have created more turnovers than anyone else in the conference. In addition, throwing out Virginia (because they drastically limit possessions) we have the fewest number of 3 PT field goals made and attempted against us. Keatts' philosophy of limiting 3's and turning you over to create extra possessions is backed up by our current statistics.
I expect the FG% defense to decrease over time as we get better defenders with length at the guard/wing position.
I also expect our high TO% to decrease over time as our young ball handlers get more experience.
