NC State junior wing commit Terquavion Smith of Farmville Central will play against Shelby High in the NCHSAA 2A title game at 2:35 p.m. Saturday at the Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill.

Farmille Central topped Creedmoor South Granville 65-63 in overtime Saturday at East Carolina. Smith was off, going 4 of 18 from the field and 1 of 9 on three-pointers for 11 points, six rebounds and one assist. Senior Samage Teel went for 19 points and post player Leontae Moye and point guard Justin Wright had 15 points apiece.

South Granville junior point guard Bobby Pettiford went 10 of 22 from the field and 2 of 7 on three-pointers for 25 points in the loss. He also had three assists and three steals. If South Granville sticks together, they could win it all next year.
