NC State sophomore commit Terquavion Smith was able to play in front of head coach Kevin Keatts for maybe the first time since July or possibly the Wolfpack team camp in June.

Farmville Central was up by 30-plus at various points and cruised to an 85-75 victory against Vance County, who they had also whipped Jan. 21. Smith ended up getting his second technical foul halfway through the fourth quarter. It was that kind of an uneven night for the athletic 6-3 wing.

On the plus side, he really knows how to play the passing lanes and uses his athleticism on the break. All seven of his field goals were dunks or layups, often after a teammate got a steal or Smith got one himself. He also has good vision as a passer and only forced a few shots.

Unofficially, I had him going 7 of 18 from the field and 0 of 6 on three-pointers for 14 points. It's the second game I've watched where he didn't get to the line, and that will have to change in the future.

Smith added six assists, five rebounds and five steals, but also recorded at least seven turnovers. He'll need more awareness because he twice was called for catching a pass while being out of bounds.
