We hear the term "Sleeping Giant" thrown around all the time. As NC State fans we've probably heard that phrase used a 1000 times regarding UNC football. But here's the thing...I believe it's being used incorrectly. Yes, I understand how it's meant, but to be a "Sleeping Giant", you have to be "Giant". To my knowledge, UNC has never won a national championship in football and I don't see them ever doing that, therefore they're not a giant. But NC State has won multiple national championships in basketball. They are truely a "Giant" that is "Sleeping". Yes, it's been a while, but if there is a REAL "Sleeping Giant" on Tobacco Road it's NC State basketball. Some do not want it to awaken, but it is there...just sleeping.
