NC State has verbal commitments from the following prospects:

Three-star offensive tackle Jonathan Adorno, Rolesville (N.C.) High
Three-star linebacker Devon Betty, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas
Three-star offensive tackle Austin Blaske, Bloomingdale (Ga.) South Effingham High
Three-star defensive back Devan Boykin, Greensboro (N.C.) Ragsdale High
Three-star quarterback Ben Finley, Phoenix (Ariz.) Paradise Valley High
Three-star wide receiver Stephen Gosnell, Hillsville (Va.) Carroll County High
Three-star offensive lineman Sean Hill, Brookwood (Ga.) Snellville High
Three-star offensive lineman Ethan Lane, Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer High
Three-star offensive lineman Patrick Matan, Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga Prep
Three-star safety/nickel Nehki Meredith, Virginia Beach (Va.) Bishop Sullivan
Two-star defensive lineman Pheldarius Payne, Lackawanna College in Scranton, Pa.
Four-star receiver Porter Rooks, Charlotte Myers Park High
Three-star defensive tackle Jaylen Smith, Ahoskie (N.C.) Hertford County High
Two-star tight end Ezemdi Udoh, Fayetteville (N.C.) Terry Sanford High
Two-star defensive tackle Davin Vann, Cary (N.C.) High
Three-star defensive back Aydan White, Asheville (N.C.) Christ School

Here is a listing of the top five prospects in the order that we think they are likely to pick NC State.

1. Wide receiver Joshua Crabtree, Wake Forest (N.C.) Heritage High
The news of Crabtree’s offer Wednesday is not a stunner. We’ll have more in the War Room Friday, but Crabtree immediately jumps to the top of the list with this offer. We would not be surprised either if it turns out to be a quick recruitment.
Last week: Unrated
Prediction: NC State

2. Three-star linebacker Jayland Parker, Macon (Ga.) Westside High
Parker had a good time on his official visit at NC State and knows several players either there or about to be there. All signs remain positive with Parker. Our guess is that Mississippi State is the top and perhaps only realistic competitor here unless Louisville makes a push. Arizona and Purdue may also be in the mix, still

Projection: NC State

3. Three-star offensive lineman Anthony Carter, Matthews (N.C.) Butler High

We have not shied away from liking NC State’s chances with Carter, but we also have to admit that the level of inactivity in his recruitment is one reason why we have a slight hesitation in our projection.

Projection: NC State

4. Three-star defensive back Joshua Pierre-Louis, Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Benjamin School
See Carter.
Last week: 3
Projection: NC State

5. Three-star defensive back Tyler Jones, Winter Garden (Fla.) West Orange
The word we got this week is that NC State might be in a quiet top four with Central Florida, Duke and Missouri. He has already made an official visit to Missouri.
Last week: 4
Projection: Unknown

Dropped Out

Three-star defensive end Sean Martin, Bluefield (W.V.) High
Most consider West Virginia the strong favorite here, but there is an expectation among some that NC State will get a visit. If that happens, Martin could rise back up into the top five. However, the offer to Crabtree bumps Martin off the list for now.
Last week: 5
Projection: West Virginia
