Junior power forward Jerome Brewer has entered the portal after missing this past season due to injury. The listed 6-9, 216-pounder caught my eye a year ago after a sneaky good year at Texas A&M-Commerce, which now goes by East Texas A&M. Good athlete, can hit the three-ball a little and has had some solid games against major opponents.

You could see why McNeese State would want him — he had 32 points, seven rebounds and went 4 of 9 on three-pointers against them Jan. 6, 2024.

His other games of note:

Brewer struggled against Texas Christian in a. 77-42 loss, with two points and two boards.

Brewer had 11 points and zero rebounds against SMU in a 90-47 loss.

Brewer had 12 points, four rebounds and went 3 of 4 on 3-pointers in a 81-61 loss at Kentucky.

Brewer had 11 points, nine boards and four blocks in a 73-46 loss at Texas Tech.

Brewer had 13 points and five rebounds in a 78-46 loss at Texas A&M.

Obviously, it's up to Wade if he wants him as a third or fourth post player type. Physically, he is a good athlete and holds his own. I thought McNeese State really could have used him for 20-25 minutes a game this season.
