When worlds collided at the Holiday Invitational on Dec. 26, 2019. With NC State coach Kevin Keatts watching, then signee Josh Hall of Moravian Prep in Hickory, N.C. (plus Shakeel Moore), took on Kinston (N.C.) High. Styles had his signature moment on the big stage with a career-high 33 points, 11 rebounds, one assist, one block and four turnovers in a 58-53 loss. He went 11 of 17 from the field, 1 of 2 on three-pointers and 10 of 12 at the free-throw line.
Hall was pretty solid too with 21 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and a block. He went 8 of 16 from the field, 1 of 5 on 3-pointers and 4 of 8 at the free-throw line.
Hall rides off to the NBA in the spring. Styles picked UNC on April 18, 2020.
