After going to NC State coach Kevin Keatts' press conference, I have settled in at Raleigh Broughton.
Looks like Kinston frosh Dontrez Styles showed more of arsenal in 56-43 win over Orlando Downey Christian. He went 5 of 8, including making all three three-pointers en route to 15 points, plus five boards and four assists. Teammate Damian Dunn, a junior guard, had 15 points, nine boards and five steals.
Kinston will now face Fayetteville Trinity Christian in a nice matchup. Trinity bounced back to top Snow Hill Greene Central 66-49. Junior forward Greg Gantt back in the starting lineup and he had 19 points, nine rebounds and two blocks. Duke-bound junior small forward Joey Baker had 14 points and junior wing Au'Duise Toney had 15 points and five boards. I like Toney as a mid-major but Virginia Tech has offered. Gantt could be that Gary Clark offer or no offer type of recruit for several regional programs.
Wilson Greenfield School just edged Raleigh Broughton. I think the PA announcer said UNC-bound senior guard Coby White had 32 points.
Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy is playing Concord Cannon School next. Curious on how much former Wolfpack senior target Jairus Hamilton has improved.
