NC State didn't get listed in the initial schools that have reached out for Rice sophomore wing Trey Murphy, but I wouldn't be surprised if that quickly changes. The Durham native is close with Josh Hall through the Durham Hurricanes' program, and he played for Kenny Inge at Cary Academy. Was a terrific long-range shooter in high school, but very skinny. His dad, like Hall's, played at East Carolina.
This offseason has really reinforced my theory that NC State should never come up short at point guard, shooting guard and small forward (or second wing). They are just floating all around.
Being held to single digits in just four games as a sophomore is pretty impressive: Trey Murphy stats.
