As I watch Coach K get his 13th FF4 trip, I think what if? What if State had a strong BoT back in 80's when Coach V was about to take this program to next level. Coach V had 17-10 record against K. Coach had won NCAA championship and Two ACC Championship. He had two 1st place finish in regular season. Should have played Duke in 89 in regional final. But our Athletic Administration and BoT were too weak. State facility was jealous of what Coach V representative. Which was a great promoter and ambassador for NC State. State could have joined Indiana and pass them in 90's as the Red Blood of NCAA Basketball.
