Since Gott has been here he has routinely had a rotation of 7 or maybe 8 guys but with very little depth beyond that. He seems to never use all the available scholarships and that leaves this team with insufficient depth in case of injury (Henderson), quitting (Lacy) or transfers (Washington).
Why not take a few flyers with some unheralded recruits that have some developable skills?
This team sure could use another pg on the roster to give Barber some relief, another big man and most definitely a good shooter or 2!
And don't give the lame jive talk about kids wanting to play so no one wanted to come in behind our starters. There are teams all across non-big 5 college basketball who have players I'd love on our roster and those teams have playable depth. And they could get minutes here if Gott would develop a bench!
Instead, we end up with a short bench, prone to major issues regarding injuries/transfers, little effective depth and not enough good players to run legitimately competitive practices!
