This is how brutally tough it is for imports in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

Jan 27 2015: 'Sweet honeymoon' for GlobalPort import CJ Leslie

Leslie responded with 33 points of his own to mount a comfortable cushion for GlobalPort throughout the game. The coach said that Leslie had to take a couple of days to adjust to the weather and food, and fortunately he was able to do so in time for the start of the conference. "I felt I did a good job. We made the right plays, it was a good first game for us," said the 23-year-old Leslie, who grabbed 14 rebounds and had five blocks for the Batang Pier.

Feb 7 2015: GlobalPort head coach on import CJ Leslie: 'He is not God'

Despite CJ Leslie averaging 29 points and 13 rebounds in his first three games for GlobalPort, coach Eric Gonzales is not keen on leaning too much on his import. The 6-foot-9 forward exploded for 22 points in the first half against Rain or Shine on Friday, but he seemingly ran out of gas when the second half began and scored only two points in the third. His poor showing prompted the Batang Pier mentor to bench him in the fourth quarter and take the risk to go All-Filipino despite being down 75-68 against the Rick Jackson-reinforced Elasto Painters.

Feb 9 2015: GlobalPort replaces import CJ Leslie with Calvin Warner

The GlobalPort Batang Pier have changed imports for the 2015 PBA Commissioner's Cup, replacing CJ Leslie with 34-year-old veteran Calvin Warner. Through three games this conference, Leslie averaged 29 PPG, 13 RPG, and 3 APG for the Batang Pier. But his play hasn't translated to the league standings, where Coach Eric Gonzales' team is currently 1-2. Gonzales, who sat Leslie for a key stretch in the fourth quarter, explained his move after the match: "Even if he's an import, if he doesn't deliver, then why will we settle for him?"

Feb 10 2015: Globalport routs ailing Alaska

With a new import in the wings, CJ Leslie made a lasting impression and Globalport took advantage of an injury-depleted Alaska, 95-73, to snap a two-game slide in the 2015 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Tuesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. In what could be his final game for the Batang Pier, Leslie scored 30 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the field and had 18 rebounds and four assists.
