Coaching has to improve next year

Keats is a good coach but he needs to take a hard look in the mirror and make some changes for next year.

He was clearly out coached last night which is a huge problem. Lipscomb killed us on both inbounds plays defensively and offensively. None more apparent than the turnover by Dorn. Keats seemed to not call a play other than to have Markell comeback for the ball. No screens to get him open and no other players cameback to the ball other than in the last second. Lipscomb killed us on a ton of their inbounds plays and scored at will which should never happen.

Key issue is our defense. Keats has to have a plan B and C if the pressure man to man isn't working instead of just continuing to do something that doesn't work like last night. I know he wants this identity of pressure D but if it isn't working a good coach adjusts. He seems to not care about adjusting and would rather force the issue even at the expense of winning.

I mean once again we pick up with pressure on the last shot and Markell gets behind the ball and can't catch up so the guy has a free run at the rim and if Dorn leaves his guy it's a layup. Just like what happened in the GT game. There you pursue the inbounds then lay back to half court if you want some pressure and stay in front of your man to force an outside shot not one in the lane.

And while the refs sucked you can't get a technical when he did in a tight game. The players were fired up it wasn't going to game anything and instead of being tied they were up 2.

And when things go south like when Harris turned the ball over 5 times in like 4 min at the beginning of the second half you have to see he is throwing the ball all over the place and take a timeout and get them refocused and take Harris out! That time allowed Lipscomb back into the game. I feel Keats did this all year and has no real feel for when to take a timeout when things are going bad. That needs to change.

Keats needs to see what the talents of his team are and play to their strength.. he doesn't seem to do that often enough at this point.

Well see if he is willing to change
